India: Extended due date, provident fund contributions
The Ministry of Labour and Employment announced more time for remittances of amounts as provident fund contributions as a relief measure in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The due date for payments regarding provident fund contributions for March 2020 has been extended to 15 May 2020 (from 16 April 2020).
Other guidance allows for non-refundable advances provided to a member of a provident fund, subject to certain conditions.
