Venezuela: Tax relief measures (COVID-19)

The authorities in Venezuela have provided some tax relief measures in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

In general, there have been no announcements made providing extensions or incentives in relation to direct and indirect national taxes.

The tax relief that has been granted includes:

  • Extensions for tax return filing and payments of municipal taxes granted by certain municipalities
  • Exemption from value added tax (VAT) and customs duty for imports made by the public sector to treat COVID-19 disease
