Dubai Customs will allow a 1% customs duty refund on goods that satisfy all of the following conditions:

  • The goods are subject to 5% customs duty.
  • The goods are imported into the UAE through Dubai Customs.
  • The full amount of customs duty is paid.
  • Import declarations are processed between 15 March to 30 June 2020.
  • The goods are imported for resale locally within the UAE.

Only refunds meeting a value threshold of AED 100 or more will be processed and disbursed.

Eligible imports cleared under import declarations from other countries, from free trade zones or from customs warehouses will qualify for the refund. However, imports entitled to customs duty drawbacks are not eligible for this refund relief.

The refunds will be processed automatically beginning on the 30th day from the date of the import declaration clearance.
