Two packages of employment legislative measures are intended to respond to issues resulting from the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Royal Decree-Law 9/2020 (27 March 2020) and Royal Decree-Law 10/2020 (29 March 2020) provide the employment-related measures. For instance, there are measures in the legislation prohibiting the termination of employment contracts on the basis of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on business activities. Other measures implement a paid leave requirement for the period 30 March 2020 through 9 April 2020.
