The president on 23 March 2020 announced a nationwide “lockdown” effective for 21 days beginning from midnight on 26 March 2020 until 16 April 2020, in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
There are related tax relief measures that allow a delay of remittances of the “pay as your earn” (PAYE) and other employment taxes liabilities, without triggering penalties or interest, and an acceleration of certain employment tax incentives.
