Slovakia: Tax relief in measures responding to COVID-19

The Slovak government on 18 March 2020 approved measures (a draft regulation) for the cancelation of the penalty for underpayments of income tax and that, in effect, extend the deadline for the filing of tax returns.

There are also provisions to delay the payment of tax for 2019 (no penalties) if the payment obligations are met by 30 June 2020.

The Ministry of Economy also submitted a new draft of measures aimed at helping the economy in connection with addressing the implications of COVID-19.
