The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative today released for publication in the Federal Register a “notice of technical adjustments” with respect to an earlier notice concerning additional customs duties on products of certain EU Member States, with an effective date of October 18, 2019.
Earlier this month, the World Trade Organization (WTO) announced that the United States could take countermeasures against Europe for approximately U.S. $7.5 billion annually (that is, additional customs duties) in the large civilian aircraft dispute. Today’s notice of technical adjustments [PDF 980 KB] makes technical changes in order to implement the intended scope of the action, and to correct other errors.
These technical changes are set out in an annex to today’s notice and are applicable with respect to products that are entered for consumption, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, on or after 12:01 a.m. eastern daylight time on October 18, 2019.
