The Brazilian tax authority (RFB) updated regulations with respect to the common reporting standard (CRS) regime.

The effective date of the new regulations is 7 August 2019.

Changes in the updated regulations concern:

  • Corrections of certain errors
  • Updates to the section on due diligence for pre-existing individual accounts
  • A new definition of the term “participating”
  • An updated definition of “declarant jurisdiction”
