Hurricane-related tax relief, more Florida counties

The IRS today added two more counties—Okaloosa and Walton—to the list of counties in Florida affected by Hurricane Michael with respect to tax relief being made available for certain taxpayers. In general, the tax relief includes more time to file returns, pay taxes, and perform certain other time-sensitive acts for taxpayers in the listed counties that were affected by Hurricane Michael.

According to the updated IRS release—FL-2018-04 (updated November 19, 2018)—individual or business taxpayers located in the following counties may qualify for tax relief: Bay, Calhoun, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Hamilton, Holmes, Jackson, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, Madison, Okaloosa, Suwannee, Taylor, Wakulla, Walton, and Washington.
