Mike is Tax Partner-in-Charge of the Houston Business Unit. He also serves as the firm’s National Tax Service Leader for Energy. He has more than 30 years of experience in tax planning, tax compliance, and tax accounting.

Tax professional with over 30 years of experience in tax planning, tax compliance and tax accounting. Experienced leading teams on a wide range of projects including co-sourcing, post-merger integration, accounting method reviews, FAS 109 related projects, and tax minimization planning.

Strong background developing thought leadership for tax issues impacting the energy industry. Published numerous articles in the American Oil and Gas Reporter magazine and a contributing author to the treatises, Income Taxation of Natural Resources (RIA) and Taxation of Public Utilities (Matthew Bender). Frequent speaker and panelist on tax issues, having contributed to KPMG’s Global Energy Conference, Oil and Gas Tax Share Forums and the annual American Petroleum Institute Tax Forum.
