James, a Partner, leads the UK transactions and restructuring practice for transport and infrastructure clients. He is currently providing advice to a consortium of strategic buyers on the acquisition of Freightliner. James has been a full-time Transaction Services specialist for the past 12 years. He's worked on many large, and complex cross-border deals. Recent transport projects include the strategic review of the rail and coach market for a major European operator; and work with International Airlines Group, British Airways and Iberia on several projects and internal transactions. Prior to joining the transport team, James spent 2 years in the US KPMG practice, helping to build their transaction advisory capability. He has also worked extensively with some of the largest Private Equity houses in Europe. These include TPG, CVC, Cinven, and Permira. Among James's many completed transactions experience is due diligence work on a €2.7 billion Global Electronics distributor in Japan; and a €1.9 billion Gaming business in the UK. James has extensive carve-out and integration experience in a range of industries. He also leads KPMG's Global SPA advice initiative.
