Chris is a Principal in KPMG’s Technology Enablement Practice. Chris specializes in leading Financial Services clients through complex IT Transformation programs from strategy through to implementation. Chris’s extensive yet varied background (from CTO Emerging Markets, Corporate Treasury Business Architecture to big four management consulting) provides him with strong management capability, hands-on operating experience and deep industry domain knowledge. In the course of his 20 years’ experience Chris has provided IT Transformation, IT Strategy and technology led change services to leading Capital Markets clients across Europe, US and Emerging Markets. Additionally, Chris is the Co-Lead of the LIBOR global center of excellence at KPMG.

Professional and Industry Experience

Chris is a Principal in KPMG’s Technology Enablement Practice with a focus on serving Capital Markets clients in the Northeast. Prior to joining KPMG Chris was a Managing Director at Bank of America Merrill Lynch where he held several transformation roles across business and technology including CTO of Finance & Tax Technology. Most recently Chris was CTO for Emerging Markets where he led front to back renewal and expansion of technology across the region to meet regulatory mandates and business growth. Previously Chris worked for Accenture in London where he focused on Finance IT Transformation for Capital Markets clients.

  • Engagement lead for the design of a custom build loan accounting platform. $100+m program to consolidate 7 legacy accounting platforms onto a strategic custom build sub-ledger. The backbone of the architecture is an event based and rules driven framework to enable the rapid adoption of new accounting policies to support the evolving regulatory regime.
  • Implemented a regional technology operating model to re-connect the technology organization and support groups with local and regional management.
  • Developed and implemented a 3 year front to back investment roadmap for Global Markets (Equities & FICC), Investment & Corporate Banking and GWIM businesses in Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa, LatAm, Canada and Spain to support business growth objectives and address the outstanding audit issues & legacy technology environment.
  • Implemented in-house technology platforms to support Global Liquidity Risk Management, Real Time Intra-day funding & Vanilla and Structured Debt Issuance.
  • Creation of a Business Intelligence and reporting environment leveraging Spotfire for Global Corporate Treasury.
  • Established strategic IT roadmaps for Finance and Tax to eliminate 50% of production systems, standardize development processes and optimize production support - reduced operating costs by 20%.
  • Implemented new centralized global workflow tool for Tax to streamline the work paper preparation process.
  • Implemented Oracle General Ledger, Fixed Assets and Accounts Payable for Japan.
  • Program Manager and architect for the collapse of the EMEA Stock Loan and Zurich Derivatives business onto the core architecture. Management of the overall programme delivery from business case through development to post production support. Global team of over 100 people and impacted 35+ systems.
  • Implementation of a Liquidity Risk Management system to meet FSA and IRB reporting requirements.
  • Project Office Manager for the consolidation of the European and Asian Equity business lines.
  • Development of IT strategy for the Investment Banking division & subsequent implementation of the Equity Origination system.
