Tania Carnegie is Leader and Chief Catalyst of the Impact Ventures practice at KPMG in Canada. As a recognized global leader in impact investing, she created both these roles and is responsible for devising and bringing to life KPMG’s Impact strategy and for advising clients on developing strategies that leverage impact as a means to drive long-term value creation.
Tania was appointed to the Federal Steering Group tasked with developing the social innovation and social finance strategy for the Government of Canada, and was a member of Canada’s National Advisory Board to the G8 Social Impact Investment Taskforce. She is the KPMG’s delegate to FCLTGlobal, a not-for-profit dedicated to encouraging long term behaviours in business and investment decision making. She is a founding member of KPMG’s Global Impact Investing Steering Group.
As an active member of her community, Tania is a Director of The Prince’s Trust Canada, the TELUS Friendly Future Foundation, Business for the Arts, The Lieutenant Governor of Ontario’s Service Fund, a Global Ambassador of We Charity, a Member of the Advisory Board of the Lee-Chin Institute at the Rotman School of Management and the Women’s Art Council at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection. For over a decade, Tania was a Member of the Royal Household at Buckingham Palace, serving as Lady in Waiting to HRH The Countess of Wessex.
Tania is a Chartered Professional Accountant, and completed her MBA at the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, and her Bachelor of Science at Western University. Tania is a recipient of the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario’s Volunteer Award, The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal, and The Sovereign's Medal for Volunteers.
