KPMG’s partnership with the University of Nottingham is focused on advanced data analytics with the ambition of developing new research and providing insight that will enhance KPMG’s data and analytics services.

We continue to work on a number of projects together across a range of workstreams, with some examples provided below. Please get in touch if you’d like to find out more.

Local Business Pulse Index

KPMG’s Local Business Pulse Index (LBPI) presents forward-looking and data-led insights on the UK’s economic geography.

Using interactive maps and deep dives into 363 areas across the UK, it presents a new typology of local places and a view across the productive strengths and growth opportunities of each area.

Developed in partnership with the University of Nottingham, the Index utilises a combination of machine learning methods, geographic data points and surveys of business leaders across the UK. You can access the tool and find out more here.

Castle Meadow Campus

KPMG UK is set to relocate its Nottingham office to the University of Nottingham’s new Castle Meadow Campus as part of its long-term regional growth strategy.

The Nottingham office supports businesses in the East Midlands with audit, tax, consulting and advisory services across a wide range of sectors – both private and public. The office will move to a dedicated space at the university’s new campus, at the foot of the city’s historically significant Nottingham Castle, and will host 200 employees.

Castle Meadow Campus is the university’s once-in-a-generation landmark investment currently in development. The new campus will enable the university to have a greater physical presence in the city centre.

This partnership is an exciting step in our drive to boost our research offering in the area of financial services and financial technology. Digital Nottingham is our endeavour to transform our city; its potential; the skills and ambitions of our community; and deliver growth and recovery.
