KPMG has been a leader in technological innovation in the Restructuring market since the early part of the last decade. Over many years now we’ve invested in fantastic new talent, supported them across a wide range of platforms and given them licence to innovate and create new solutions and tools which enhance the value, efficiency and effectiveness of the work we do for our clients every day. We’re proud to showcase some of them here for you now.
We’ve embedded digital technology in every one of our solution groups and continue to challenge our teams to innovate at the individual service line level.
We have a range of functional data analytics apps across our transformation, turnaround and liquidity offering. In the sphere of financial restructuring we deploy complex financial modelling tools and host common information platforms for multi-stakeholder scenarios. We leverage data analytics to pinpoint problem items in large data populations across counter-party risk management offerings. Even in the more traditional field of insolvency we have developed claims management portals to help support engagement with large creditor populations.
Our development team, who are all active members of our client delivery teams continue to innovate and expand the reach of our digital capabilities adding to our ‘App Ecosystem’ on a regular basis. We currently have in excess of 30 apps developed.
Our apps provide an interactive way of displaying results through their drag and drop creation, helping to create smart and interactive data visualisation.
They offer a high standard of flexibility including:
Users can make adjustments to underlying assumptions in the model on the fly – results will be calculated and displayed instantly.
No further developing or coding is then required to perform sensitivity or scenario analysis to update, for instance, implementation risk factors.
Ability to customise analysis for a specific business is not left apart though, as updating parameters for a new market, or selecting different peers to include in a benchmarking analysis can be realised using the drop-downs, mouse selects and input boxes.
Payables, receivables and inventory data can be refreshed routinely (e.g. monthly) and uploaded into our Working Capital Optimisation apps.
Progress can then be monitored against targets set, with refreshes allowing for an analysis of the incremental benefit achieved e.g. month-on-month.
Benefits can be tracked per initiative and at a country, business unit, category, supplier and even individual invoice level.
Our data analytics platforms bring new insights to our clients on a daily basis, solving complex hidden profitability issues, unlocking significant new liquidity, and underpinning successful transformation and turnaround projects.
Our technology development often emerges from live engagement work we will have agreed on a platform preferred by an individual client. We take pride in being able to deliver our solutions on a range of platforms, and when we develop something new, we work to mobilise that across all our current platforms:
We’ve also been recognised by our industry for our use of technology, taking home an award at last year’s TRI Awards in London:
