Professional services firm KPMG has announced the appointment of Shepard (“Colie”) Spink as Senior Advisor to its UK Deal Advisory practice, effective immediately.
Colie is a highly experienced business leader, with more than two decades experience of transaction leadership, providing strategic advice and increasing company value through operational change. He joins KPMG from A&M Capital Europe, a private equity firm which he co-founded and served as Managing Partner. Colie spent the previous decade with Alvarez & Marsal, where he started and led their European private equity-focused transaction and performance improvement services businesses. Colie has also led numerous private equity backed businesses through periods of accelerated growth and change, serving as CEO, CFO, or NXD.
Colie will be based in London and will join the Deal Advisory leadership team to provide insights and advice on pre and post-deal strategy and transformation, private equity as well as building out operational capabilities.
Liz Claydon, UK Head of Deal Advisory at KPMG in the UK, said: “I am delighted to welcome Colie to our market-leading Deal Advisory practice. His track record of advising on operational change and delivering value for businesses across many sectors globally adds further senior firepower to our ability to maximise opportunities and deliver sustainable value for our clients at every stage of the deal lifecycle.
"It has been an exceptional year for our business; we expect the growing appetite we’re seeing for integrated advice across corporate finance, debt advisory, value creation and transaction services, will only continue as the economy rebounds from the impact of the pandemic. I know Colie’s vast experience, both as an advisor and C-suite executive, will complement our strategic growth plans as we drive our business forward in the months and years ahead.”
Colie Spink, Senior Advisor to Deal Advisory, added: “Technology, climate change, social activism and now the pandemic are upending business models and driving an unprecedented need for corporate transformation. Global liquidity, private equity dry powder and the hunt for yield will ensure that M&A continues to serve as a major catalyst for change. KPMG is in an extremely privileged position to be able to leverage its brand, footprint, industry insights and functional capabilities to help its clients anticipate the risks and capitalise on the opportunities that come with change. I’m looking forward to working with KPMG’s incredibly talented and experienced team to provide end-to-end transformation and value creation solutions for clients throughout the deal lifecycle to help unlock and preserve value.”
KPMG’s UK Deal Advisory & Strategy team advises on some of the most significant transactions in the market, from large multinational cross-border transactions and high-profile IPOs to working with privately-owned businesses across the UK on their fundraising, exit and acquisition strategies.
