UK Tech scaleups given the chance to pitch to industry experts in Barcelona.
KPMG has launched its annual competition to find the Best British Tech Pioneer and is inviting businesses from across the UK to take part.
Applications for the competition, now in its sixth year, are open for fast growth technology businesses that can demonstrate their market potential, innovation and the benefits of their products to a panel of industry experts.
The competition has had more than 1,000 applications since it first started in 2013 and will see successful applicants invited to pitch their business to a panel of judges at events held across the UK.
Commenting on the competition Tim Kay, Director, KPMG Enterprise who works with scaleup businesses said :
“Our fast growth technology businesses are thriving, attracting attention and investment across the globe for their innovation. The search for the Best British Tech Pioneer offers a fantastic opportunity for tech scaleups to showcase their business to an audience of investors and major industry players looking for the next emerging giant to invest in, buy from, or form an alliance with.
“Previous winners of this competition have gone on to have huge success and we are looking for the most innovative, fast-growth businesses that can showcase just how strong Britain is in disruptive technologies and innovative business models. Some of these companies could already be making a huge impact in their fields, others may be hidden gems getting ready to reveal themselves to the world.”
Previous competition finalists have included Babylon Health, What3Words Echo and SafeToNet, and more than £100 million has been raised by previous finalists to date.
The winners of the regional events will go through to the semi-finals in London in February 2020 with those successful then flown out to the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona later that month, where they will pitch to a panel of global industry experts to be crowned the Best British Tech Pioneer. The winners will also be provided with exhibition booths at the next Four Years From Now (4YFN) conference to showcase their businesses to a wider start-up-focussed audience and get access to the Mobile World Congress.
The competition provides an unrivalled opportunity for fast growth tech businesses to raise their profile, gain access to investment opportunities, corporate connections and a booth to present their start-up to over 100,000 industry players. The Mobile World Congress is the world’s largest annual mobile industry gathering, and hundreds of investors attend the event in Barcelona, all of whom are searching for the next unicorn to get involved with.
Applications close at 11.59pm on Sunday 1 December 2019. https://www.kpmgenterprise.co.uk/bbtp/
