Whilst most people enjoy traveling for work, it always involves a certain degree of planning and form-filling, for both the corporation and the traveler. As business travel continues to increase year-on-year (the Global Business Travel Association predicts that business travel spend will reach $1.7 trillion by 2022), the collaboration launches with the aim of taking the hassle out of travel.

Through a combined technological offering, companies and employees will be able to book their business travel and receive immigration, tax and regulatory assessments and assistance throughout the journey.

Companies using both Amadeus and KPMG business travel technology can elect to have their employee travel data sent directly and seamlessly by Amadeus cytric Travel & Expense to KPMG LINK Business Traveller for assessment. Business Traveller can then identify travel requirements at the point of booking or planning a trip, triggering the next steps to ensure compliance with the necessary requirements ahead of their business trip.

So how will it work?

  • Amadeus will deliver an end-to-end travel management experience through Amadeus cytric Travel & Expense. Its flagship platform allows business travelers to access the widest selection of global travel content from multiple sources. Supported by cutting-edge personalization capabilities, they can search, book and manage their trips and expenses making the best choices for themselves and their company. Whether they’re at the office, at home or on the road, they will benefit from an optimized user experience.
  • KPMG’s Business Traveller platform provides real-time travel assessments and helps companies comply with visa, work permit, A1, EU Posted Worker, tax reporting, permanent establishment compliance and more.

This combined solution – which is now being implemented for joint Amadeus & KPMG customers – aims to provide a unified experience for corporations and employees alike, saving time and costs.

Marc Burrows, Partner and KPMG’s Head of Global Mobility Services said: “The frequency of business travel continues to grow and at the same time, business travelers and their employers face ever-increasing compliance from global authorities.

“This is about bringing together travel management technologies to provide a more integrated, cost-effective service for companies, as well as ensuring the best possible data is used for compliance, analysis and reporting.”

Ángel Gallego, Executive Vice President, Corporations, Travel Channels, Amadeus said: “At Amadeus, we constantly look for opportunities to take friction out of travel. With business travel on the rise, it’s more important than ever for us to continue working with our 16,000+ corporate customers to power smarter business travel and expense.

“By working with KPMG we will address a pain point for corporate travelers worldwide. Compliance is an important part of business travel and our offering will allow both travel managers and people under the Human Resources department to have full control over their travel plans and spend, ensuring that the benefits of business travel can be maximized, both for the corporation and the traveler.”
