Blair Nimmo, Joint Administrator and UK Head of Restructuring at KPMG, comments on City Gate Construction acquires Dimension Shopfitting.
Curot Contracts Limited, trading as Dimension Shopfitting, which provides expert construction and specialist interior fit out services, has been sold to Barrochan Limited and has now become part of the City Gate Construction group.
Blair Nimmo and Alistair McAlinden of KPMG LLP were appointed Joint Administrators of Curot Contracts Limited on 18 July 2019.
Immediately upon their appointment, they concluded a sale of the business and its assets to Barrochan Limited, protecting jobs and securing the continuation of trade in the process.
Established in 1984, Dimension generated peak annual turnover in the region of £20 million, but challenging conditions in the retail, dining and wider hospitality and leisure sectors, reduced the amount of work available to the business, from its traditional customer base.
Cashflow pressures led the Director to place the Company into Administration. Despite this, the future order-book remains strong and its brand continues to be highly regarded.
Blair Nimmo, Joint Administrator and UK Head of Restructuring at KPMG, said:
“We are delighted to have been able to successfully conclude a sale which protects skilled jobs in the construction sector and preserves a market leading brand. The strength of the brand and its future order-book will give the new owners a fantastic footing from which to develop the business further. I wish them every success for the future.”
Barrochan Limited will become part of the CGC group, a privately-owned construction, refurbishment and maintenance main contractor.
Leo Reilly, Chief Executive of CGC, commented:
"We are delighted to have successfully concluded the purchase of Dimension Shopfitting. The addition of this business to our Group undoubtedly enhances the portfolio of services which CGC offers.”
