Jessica Carmody, chair of KPMG’s mental health network, Be Mindful, has been named Employee Champion in this year’s Mind Workplace Wellbeing Index awards. “In her role as chair of the Be Mindful network, Jessica has played an integral part in the promotion of mental health within KPMG. She has organised some inspiring workshops and events, sharing her personal story and expertise and encouraging the firm’s leadership to get involved and show their support."
“Jessica has been instrumental in ensuring KPMG’s place in the Mind Workplace Wellbeing Index, and has done an excellent job facilitating collaboration across the organisation with key business leaders. She is not only an incredible inspiration to myself and colleagues across KPMG, but has also championed mental health to her wider external networks. Her unwavering dedication to this on top of her day job is outstanding, and we are incredibly proud of her achievement."
Jessica Carmody, senior manager and chair of KPMG’s Be Mindful network said of the firm’s silver accolade:
“To receive a silver ranking in this year’s index is a great achievement, and I’m delighted that our progress has been recognised. However, we know there is still much more to be done to normalise dialogue around mental health. As a firm we are committed to providing colleagues with an inclusive culture in which to work, encouraging conversations around wellbeing and offering support when colleagues need this. It is vital that we keep talking about mental health, so we can change attitudes and behaviours from a culture where people may be ‘suffering in silence’ to one of openness, compassion and support."
”Mind’s Workplace Wellbeing Index is a benchmark of best policy and practice, celebrating the good work employers are doing to promote and support positive mental health, and providing key recommendations on the specific areas where there is room to improve."
