KPMG’s Tax Technology & Innovation team have launched a series of hackathons to support Tax Leaders to experience the benefits of our Tax Technology Alliance Partners.

KPMG’s first Alteryx Tax Hackathon

KPMG’s first Tax hackathon was aimed at solving business challenges and automating manual repetitive data analysis tasks to help the business make smarter and faster decisions. The session provided Alteryx training and time to work in teams to explore how Alteryx could be used to streamline and automate existing tasks and processes. It was also an opportunity to collaborate with attendees from various different businesses and tax backgrounds.

Alteryx is an analytics automation company which provides an intelligent data transformation platform with workflow, enabling users to leverage automation and assisted modelling to create innovative solutions and improve their processes. With data, technology and automation higher than ever on the agenda for Heads of Tax, by bringing together Alteryx’s self-service analytics, data science and process automation platform with KPMG’s technology and professional services knowledge, we can help accelerate businesses readiness for the future of tax.

What our attendees had to say:

Jane Stockham | Group VAT Manager | Associated British Foods PLC

‘It’s given me some great ideas actually, we’re forever trying to find ways to knit all those processes together and give them a common framework. So today’s been a great day in terms of putting some meat around the bones and looking at ideas in that space.’

Salmana Ahmad | UK & Ireland Tax Manager | GSK

‘Especially for people who have never used Alteryx before, it has the potential to massively reduce the time they spend on non-tax work.’

Vinesh Shah | Tax Technology & Reporting Director | Kantar

‘It’s quite easy to talk about the product itself, but actually the most valuable thing I found was actually the hands-on experience and actually using it and clicking through the product itself. So I definitely recommend it.’
