Artificial intelligence, or AI, is accelerating. It has become a regular topic in our day to day lives and it is increasingly utilised by businesses to improve efficiency and drive customer experience.

Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, track and trace applications around the world have been opening the public’s eyes to the benefits, but also risks, that are involved in AI. All too often, businesses overlook protection to personal data when developing Artificial Intelligence. This opens them up to significant sanctions – and even worse, erosion of customer trust.

In order to lead in a world where customers are, quite rightly, demanding more than just the basic legal compliance – businesses need to go above minimal legal standards by working to embed legal and ethical controls as they develop their AI from the outset.
