“Businesses are going to have to come up with very detailed plans to ensure the safety of their staff in offices, most of which have been closed since lockdown and are not equipped for the new ‘normal’.”

In our 100 seconds video, Mark Williamson, Partner, People Consulting, considers what the latest Government updates on COVID-19 means for businesses and their employees.

As they work with the Government’s plans and guidelines, businesses need to consider three areas:

  1. What the workforce that is returning to work will look like, and what policies will be needed to support employees. Businesses need to be continually gathering data to best meet the needs of those retuning to the workplace.
  2. Working with facilities teams. There will need to be very detailed plans to ensure the continued safety of staff in workplaces that were not designed for the new normal.
  3. Managing the workforce and expected business requirements. It’s the time to take stock and reassess the current operating model.

As we all await further guidance, now is the time to be preparing - with a focus on ensuring the safety of people.
