Understanding regulatory capital results from insurers' supplementary disclosure for YE19
Regulatory capital is a key metric for insurers. This includes both absolute level of solvency coverage, the long-term level of surplus generation and the efficiency of capital allocation. KPMG has summarised firm’s supplementary disclosures for regulatory capital as at 27th March 2020. The disclosures include solvency ratios, drivers of surplus generation, information provided on management actions taken and insights from the Q&A with analysts.
Due to the current economic circumstances, many insurers provided estimated solvency ratios for early or mid-March, which are captured also.
