A round up of other news this week.
On 4 June 2019, HMRC published high level guidance on the corporation tax relief rules for certain acquisitions of goodwill and relevant assets that changed as from 1 April 2019. The guidelines outline what has changed in the rules; the relief that is available; how to claim relief; as well as the restrictions that still apply to goodwill and relevant assets purchased.
Two-thirds of CEOs say that agility is the new currency of business and that if they do not adapt, their business will become irrelevant. According to the fifth KPMG International Global CEO Outlook, just over half of CEOs are confident they will succeed but are realistic, with 53 percent projecting cautious three-year growth of up to 2 percent (down from 55 percent in 2018). The UK CEO Outlook will be published next week.
