Until recently, the focus of WCAG conformance had been on web accessibility from desktop computers. But the rapid growth of mobile and hand-held devices has shifted attention. 

In the UK alone, smartphone ownership has risen to 87% from 52% in 2012 and a survey of 4,000 online banking consumers found that the proportion of people who considered themselves mobile dominant had risen from 10% in 2017 to 15% in 2018.

This report looks at why accessibility is a crucial factor when developing both mobile and web content and how companies can stay in line with legislation and do the right thing by their customers.
