KPMG’s Wheely Big Cycle and Walks is our flagship fundraiser for 2020 open to all our UK colleagues as well as our clients, alumni, friends and family. All funds raised will go towards our chosen National Charity, the NSPCC.

We are really proud of what we have achieved so far with our support for the NSPCC. We have already raised over £1,000,000 but we want to do even more in order to reach our target of £1.5 million by September 2020!

Last year’s Wheely Big Cycle helped raise an incredible £157k for the NSPCC. So this year, it’s back – with a twist. From 15–23 June, there are nine days of cycling to choose from, between Edinburgh and Tring. And for those who prefer to stand on their own two feet, we’re organising four sponsored walks taking place up and down the country to coincide with the bike ride. The main walks are in Edinburgh, Leeds, and Tring and the KPMG Newcastle office is also arranging a walk with more limited capacity. As with last year, all events are open to clients, family, friends and alumni.

The Wheely Big Cycle

On Monday 15 June, we will kick off the bike ride from our KPMG Edinburgh office. Over the course of nine days, our cyclists pass through the beautiful UK countryside, stopping over at our Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and Reading offices along the way, before finishing with a well-deserved celebration event, together with those taking part in the final Wheely Big Walk (see 'The Wheely Big Walks' below for more information) in Tring on Tuesday 23 June. Distances range from 25 miles to 94 miles a day. It is no easy challenge that is for sure, but we are offering half day options on three of the routes (days 5, 6 and 7) for the less experienced cyclists or those who can’t commit to a full day. Participants can choose a half or whole day, tackle a few legs over a couple of days, or decide to take on the whole route!

Registration: There is a £20 registration fee to secure your place, this should be paid via donation to the NSPCC here ensuring you state your full name and whether you are KPMG or an external guest so we can track your payment.

Fundraising targets:

  • Half / 1 day - £150 minimum target
  • 2-3 days - £250 minimum target
  • 4-6 days - £500 minimum target
  • 7-9 days - £750 minimum target

The Wheely Big Walks

To mix things up, this year we are also offering four walks to complement the cycle ride. The main walks are in Edinburgh, Leeds, and Tring and the KPMG Newcastle office is also arranging a walk with more limited capacity. The walks are definitely more than a stroll, but they are well within range of even the most occasional walker.

Everything has been organised for you. All you need to do is bring yourself, a picnic lunch and a water bottle and the rest is sorted. We will send a kit list to make sure you are ready for every eventuality and a training plan if you feel the need.

Registration: There is a £20 registration fee to secure your place, this should be paid via donation to the NSPCC here ensuring you state your full name and whether you are KPMG or an external guest so we can track your payment.

Fundraising target: Although the walks may not be a challenge for all, this is a fundraising event for the NSPCC, so we ask that everyone commits to raising at least £75 per person per walk.
