Latest insights on the transformational digitisation program.

Tax authorities around the world are embarking on transformational digitisation programs as they seek to use existing and emerging technologies to manage and use data more effectively.

Their collective aim is focus on improving collection of tax, enhancing their relationship with taxpayers and making better use of their resources to reduce errors and non-compliance.

In the UK this has resulted in a £1.3 billion government investment to introduce Making Tax Digital. Individual taxpayers already have access to a Personal Tax Account where they see and manage their tax affairs online and in real-time.

Other countries are also reviewing their end to end processes and we are starting to see the emergence of ‘Pre-filled’ tax returns.

But what does this mean for Global Mobility programs? What opportunities lie ahead?

At KPMG we are embracing digitisation and re-thinking the way Global Mobility Tax Services with be delivered in the future.

We have written a series of articles under our Making Tax Digital series that explore the potential impact and considerations for Global Mobility teams and assignees.
