Richard has worked in restructuring for over 25 years and has an extensive and broad experience across many sectors with a working knowledge of both listed and privately owned businesses.
During this time Richard has provided a full suite of formal insolvency services to hundreds of companies and delivered extensive turnaround and restructuring advice to companies, lenders and other stakeholders. He has taken his own insolvency appointments and led advisory engagements since 2002.
Following completion of a 12 month secondment to a prestigious business organisation, Richard become a KPMG partner in October 2006.
Richard leads KPMG’s restructuring team in the East Midlands but since establishing KPMG’s restructuring defined benefit pensions practice in 2007 has also specialised in the DB pensions space with a significant proportion of his work having been spent advising clients who sponsor a DB pension scheme. Richard has over 10 years experience delivering advice and solutions to both sponsoring companies and pension scheme trustee boards.
In this area he also has significant exposure to the Pension Regulator (PR) and the Pension Protection Fund (PPF) working directly for both organisations on assignments in recent years.
