Nick joined KPMG in 2012 and leads our regulatory finance team. Prior to this, he was a senior member of the Competition Group at Ofcom for nearly seven years and before that he was an Equity Analyst for four years with Lehman Brothers, having previously qualified as an accountant. Nick’s work covers four broad areas within regulatory finance: competition finance, regulatory strategy, regulatory audit, and business rates advice. Competition profitability, includes profitability analysis and cost of capital estimation for a range of market investigations and market studies across different sectors. The team also works on regulatory strategy, especially in the telecoms and postal sectors including work for BT, Royal Mail and Network Rail. The regulatory audit work includes engagements with Bahamas Telecoms Company and Royal Mail, while business rates advice assists clients to optimise their non-domestic rates liabilities.
