James leads the Newcastle Restructuring team having been at KPMG since 2000. He also works with clients across Yorkshire. He works with clients facing issues of financial stress, advising companies, stakeholders and running formal restructuring engagements. Operating across sectors, James has delivered complex restructurings with particular focus on property, retail and financial services.
James has significant experience in the property sector; He developed and led a team in the North which specialises in winning and delivering complex property restructuring assignments.
He sits on the multidisciplinary property team for the North and on the national board for Property Restructuring for KPMG and has presented to a number of clients on property restructuring.

Confidential Independent Business Review on high profile £130 million property portfolio, resulting in a significant restructure.

Oversight of consensual sale of office development at enhanced values for lender.
Banking clients include CYBG Plc, Lloyds Banking Group, HSBC, Barclays, and Royal Bank of Scotland.
Asset based lenders, including Aldermore, RBS Invoice Finance and Bibby Financial Services.
James has a number of significant confidential client relationships.
James leads the national relationship with Bank of Ireland, building on a secondment to the Bank’s Distressed Property Team.
