Caroline advises employers on a wide range of employer compliance obligations including the operation of PAYE and NIC on payments, expenses and benefits provided to employees, establishing employment status, National Minimum Wage (NMW) and the operation of Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) regulations. Caroline also advises employers on the structuring and taxation of employee reward packages including the design and implementation of flexible benefit schemes.
Caroline has worked for KPMG since 2005 and was made a partner in 2018.
She works with clients across all sectors and her clients include both public and private sector organisations.
Caroline has supported and represented many clients during HMRC investigations into NMW employment status and CIS, as well as employer compliance reviews and Know Your Customer visits. She has also carried out a large number of payroll and employer compliance processes for employers and assisted employers to make voluntary disclosures of undeclared income tax and NIC to HMRC - covering a range of issues including employee travel expenses, relocation payments, termination payments, tax planning arrangements involving Employee Benefit Trusts and other employee expenses/benefits.
Caroline has also worked with companies across a range of sectors to introduce flexible benefit schemes and Total Reward Statements for employees.
