Steve joined KPMG in 2004 and has over 13 years of experience in the restructuring team within Deal Advisory. Steve is the national restructuring sector lead for Charities and not for profit organisations and the southern lead for restructuring in the education sector.
Steve has recent experience of undertaking pension covenant reviews across several sectors including banking. Alongside this, over recent years Steve has also had a public sector focus, primarily education, providing advisory services to a range of further education colleges and higher education institutions.
Steve recently completed a bank led Independent Bank Review (IBR) for an underperforming national charity, which resulted in a restructuring of the management team, Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) driven turnaround which led to a renewed strategy and ultimately, ongoing bank support.
Steve has performed a wide range of advisory work for UK lenders and borrowers covering both distressed and non-distressed situations. This includes extensive experience of performing independent business reviews, incorporating cash flow, working capital and option analysis. In addition, Steve has performed contingency planning engagements, early options analysis including exiting underperforming businesses/divisions and various formal insolvency assignments (e.g. administrations, pre-packs, CVAs).
