KPMG in the UK
Stewart leads the KPMG pensions team advising large corporate clients on the design and financial management of UK and Irish pension arrangements. He is a qualified actuary with over 20 years of experience and has advised a wide range of FTSE100 and equivalent organisations helping clients and pension schemes navigate the regulatory regime. Stewart has advised sponsors on the financing of over £200 billion of private sector pension liabilities and the benefit design for over 200,000 employees.
His experience is across a wide range of sectors with particular experience in telecommunications, banking, life sciences and consumer markets. Stewart has also worked with a number of organisations with overseas owners and privately owned businesses where the pension schemes are material to the UK business.
Stewart has acted as expert witness and advised on a number of high profile cases, involving multiple stakeholders including interaction with Government departments, the Pensions Regulator and other economic regulators. He has led the development of a number of KPMG initiatives on pensions financing, and ‘Reshaping Retirement’ helping clients respond to the pensions freedoms introduced in April 2015.
Stewart is a regularly speaker at industry events and press commentator. He is a member of the Main Committee of Association of Consulting Actuaries helping to provide input to Government and the Pensions Regulator on the UK legal and regulatory framework for pensions.
