Mads Hannibal

Director, Financial Risk Management

KPMG in the UK

Mads joined KPMG’s regulatory team in 2011 as part of the Authorisation Practice. Prior to working at KPMG, Mads worked at the Financial Services Authority (“FSA”), predominantly as a banking supervisor but he also has experience of both investment exchange supervision and policy work.

In addition to supporting clients applying to obtain or change regulatory licences, Mads leads on KPMG’s Regulatory and Compliance offering for small to medium sized foreign banks. This ranges from completing risk framework reviews to deep dives on functional arrangements within compliance departments though to detailed programs to implement traceability of regulatory obligations. Key current interests include governance arrangements including the implications of SMCR and the new FRC Governance Code as well as Executive and Board level coaching and training.

Mads is married and has two children. Other than spending time with his children, mainly in the role as designated taxi driver, he enjoys reading and recently discovered indoor rowing.
