A senior member of the KPMG Advisory team for almost 20 years, he has considerable transactional experience.

Steve has considerable transactional experience having advised on deals across a number of market sectors. He commenced his career at KPMG in the Corporate Finance team advising on traditional Mergers and Accquisations (M&A) transactions often with a private equity angle to them. Following the economic downturn in 2008, he transferred into the Restructuring team and focused on complex and special situation transactions, typically involving underperforming or underinvested non-core businesses.

He has advised on both equity and debt fund raisings and his debt financing experience includes both asset based and cash flow lending and senior and junior debt facilities.

Steve has worked with companies from a wide range of industries but he has a specific interest in the Food & Drink market and is a member of KPMG’s Food & Drink sector team.

Previous engagements include:

  • Advising the shareholders of a privately owned importer and distributor of charcuterie on a sale to its management team.
  • A review of the operations, forecasts and funding structure of a branded food business and advising its institutional shareholders on a refinancing of its debt facilities and a change to its capital structure.
  • A review of the operations and forecasts of a supplier of fresh produce reporting to the equity shareholders and bank.
  • Advising on the disposal of a underperforming, non-core processing division by a mid-market group.
