Steve has been with KPMG for 15 years, and has over 12 years of Restructuring Advisory and Transaction Services experience, having previously qualified in Audit.
Steve has worked on a wide variety of assignments, including Mergers and Accquisitions (M&A), due diligence, independent business reviews, financial restructuring, cash management, working capital optimisation, profit improvement, turnaround planning and execution and contingency planning. Steve’s broad skillset and experience throughout the business lifecycle means he is adept at working with under-performing businesses to maximise value for stakeholders prior to exit.
Steve has a broad range of sector experience, but has a particular specialism in Healthcare, and is currently the sector lead for Private Healthcare in Restructuring and in the Midlands region for KPMG more generally.
He has extensive experience in the private healthcare sector having performed numerous business reviews, contingency planning and debt restructuring assignments of Care Homes, Supported Living and Private Hospital businesses, totalling over £1 billion of debt. This includes winning Manager of the Year at the 2014 Insolvency and Rescue awards for delivering a consensual restructuring of an underperforming specialist and elderly care business.
He was also the lead advisor to the Care Quality Commission, helping them design their approach to the Market Oversight regime for the largest Adult Social Care providers which went live in April 2015.
