Robert has over 10 years of professional experience in restructuring and financial improvement across various sectors, with the last 5 years focussed on Healthcare. Robert is our sector champion for Healthcare in the UK.
Robert has led various healthcare projects across England and Wales, supporting the National Health Service (NHS) to implement rapid and sustainable reductions to costs, in order to improve their financial position. He has led programmes with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement financial recovery plans.
In 2019 Robert was seconded to a large acute trust as a deputy Finance Director for 5 months where he redesigned the financial reports to be more insightful and decision focused, improved the performance management processes, implemented a new demand and capacity model, and enhanced financial controls in the trust.
In 2017 Robert was seconded to NHS improvement’s transactions and sustainable solutions team – working with various trusts from both a regulation and a support point of view in order to diagnose trust deficits as well as develop and implement financial recovery plans for trusts in financial special measures. He played a central reporting and project management role on the financial improvement programme II, supporting NHSI sponsors to provide insightful and helpful challenge to their respective trusts, as well as targeted KPIs to track and monitor progress. He also helped shape and influence methodologies around evaluating and recovering deficits.
Robert has worked variously across the following sectors in audit, insolvency, and financial improvement roles: banking, healthcare, hedge funds, commodities broking, insurance, retail, mining, including independent business reviews and solvent and insolvent liquidations and administrations.
