Oleksii joined KPMG in 2017

Over more than 10 years in the industry, he has occupied many different risk-management positions in the biggest foreign-owned commercial banks in Ukraine (including deputy Chief Risk Officer at one of top-10 banks in Ukraine).

Prior to joining KPMG, Oleksii worked as the head of a risk-management methodology team in the local financial regulator (National Bank of Ukraine, Department of Methodology). He was the manager responsible for the NBU’s project for preparing new corporate governance, risk-management and compliance guidelines for Ukrainian commercial banks (Regulation No.64) in accordance with EU / Basel Committee standards.

Oleksii has extensive knowledge of corporate governance, credit processes, internal controls, compliance, risk-management methodology and standards, and experience cooperating with IMF, World Bank and USAID experts when implementing international risk-management practices on the local CIS market.

Oleksii’s relevant banking experience includes transformation of the risk management framework of a top-10 Ukrainian bank after its purchase by an international banking group (mandates, job descriptions, policies and procedures, regulatory and management reporting, support of management board committees). He also has experience in implementing global group risk-management reporting frameworks in a Ukrainian subsidiary of an international bank.

Oleksii took part in developing new, and optimisation of existing, end-to-end processes in the area of Treasury operations, including: interbank lending, FX and derivatives trading (limit system, underwriting, support and monitoring, including antifraud), early warning systems, and back office. He also participated in creating and implementing fund transfer pricing (FTP) methodology for properly allocating income via different units and managing financial risk.

Oleksii’s relevant consulting experience includes projects for assessing corporate governance frameworks, with a focus on control functions (risk management, compliance, internal audit) in CIS banks, creating improvement action plans and supporting their implementation (methodology, tools, reporting templates).

  • Attendance of numerous seminars in the area of risk-management, ICAAP and compliance, which were organized by European Central Bank, Central banks of Poland and Netherlands, ATTF (Luxemburg)
