Gillian is a Director in KPMG’s Tax practice in Trinidad and Tobago and has over 30 years’ experience in the Tax industry. She was employed for almost 10 years at the Board of Inland Revenue as a State Counsel and over 20 years Big 4 professional tax experience. She has a leadership role in providing advice to local and international clients on various complex transactions including cross-border transactions, tax incentives, efficient cash repatriation, tax planning and regulatory procedures, and negotiating amicable settlements in respect of assessments raised by the tax authorities in relation to both Trinidad &Tobago and Guyana. She leads a diverse group of tax professionals and is responsible for development of the Tax practice in Trinidad and Tobago. Over the years she has built collaborative relationships with several KPMG members firms throughout the globe including firms located in the UK, Europe, USA, Canada, China and Australia in matters of in-bound structuring and restructuring and tax due diligence for mergers & acquisitions. Gillian has effectively presented on numerous tax training seminars for both internal and external audiences in Trinidad &Tobago and Guyana. Throughout her career, she has written numerous thought leadership for a variety of business publications and she has been interviewed on tax matters for print and broadcast media both in Trinidad &Tobago and Guyana.
