Job Description

KPMG Thailand’s FS  Risk Management team advises financial institutions on the identification, assessment, modelling/measurement, monitoring and management of operational risks.

Operational risk events are the leading source of financial losses, regulatory fines and reputational damage in most organizations. Operational risk losses are caused by failure to deliver sound business practices, inability to execute and deliver core business processes, fraud events and inability to operate during a prolonged business disruption.

We are looking for a manager with FS experience to join the team to focus on the following:


  • Oversee the operational risk framework by implementing and reviewing control self- assessments, and risk indicators to ensure the institution is within control standards
  • Strengthening and align client’s existing operational risk management frameworks to meet evolving business and regulatory demands
  • Build and verify operational risk capital calculation and allocation models to determine capital requirements to cover operational exposures
  • Assess business requirements for operational risk management systems
  • Review operational risk incidents and complaints and work with internal stakeholders for remediation and risk mitigation
  • Gauge operational risk measurement and analytics through applying risk quantification and attribution techniques (including quantitative risk assessment and scenario analysis)
  • Perform project management or co-sourcing reviews of operational processes, people and systems


  • Minimum of 6 years’ relevant experience preferably within an advisory firm or working under Operational Risk division in the banking and/or insurance sector.
  • Extensive knowledge of risk management techniques and practices, risk and control assessment techniques and concepts, and auditing or testing practices preferred
  • Proficiency in spoken and written Thai and good English
  • Bachelor’s degree is a must and master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking, MBA, Economics and other equivalent subjects is plus
  • Ability to thrive in an international environment
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and project management skills
