KPMG acted as the sell-side advisor and successfully advised SLOVAKIAN FIELD INVEST A / S on the sale of DAN AGRO HOLDING, s.r.o. (“DAH”) to the Austrian company SVK Invest GmBH belonging under Gutsverwaltung Illmau GmBH & CO KG (“GV Illmau”).

About the deal

Dan Agro Holding

DAH owns approximately 1,000 hectares of land in the vicinity of Černík, which it leases for primary agricultural production in an ecological mode. It applies the principles of efficient rotation of selected crops to achieve maximum crop yield per hectare. The company has been developed for more than 15 years by a group of Danish farmers.

GV Illmau

GV Illmau is an Austrian agricultural company operating in the field of primary agricultural production in northern Austria and southern Czechia and managing approximately 1,500 hectares. In addition to biological crops such as potatoes, it focuses on crops such as soybeans, sunflowers or pumpkins.

Thanks to the acquisition of DAH, GV Illman has gained 1,000 hectares of fertile land in southern Slovakia, which is GV Illmau's first asset in the Slovak Republic. The company thus entered a new market and expanded its operations outside Austria and Czechia.

We had for a long time sought to sell approximately 1,000 hectares of agricultural land near Cernik, Slovakia. Despite the corona pandemic, KPMG conducted negotiations and sales in the best possible way. A professional and structured process from our advisor ensured that the sale was completed satisfactorily. We can strongly recommend collaborating with KPMG.
