Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing

The course does not aim to introduce you to a wide range of vulnerabilities and exploits. Instead, the objective of this course is to develop, in the participants, a good understanding of the various phases in vulnerability assessments and penetration testing. Through good hands-on exercises, our goal is to bring out the essence of those key phases that make up the basic workflow used by every penetration tester. This understanding and workflow we mentioned allows the penetration tester to meet his objectives with flexibility—without having prior knowledge or experience of every single vulnerability and exploit available in the world.

This course is organised in 5 broad parts:

• Reconnaissance

• Vulnerability assessment

• Exploits

• Shell codes and payloads

• Web application penetration testing
  

 

At the end of this course, participants will gain knowledge and skills related to the following:

• How to perform reconnaissance on network services and web applications

• How to analyse vulnerabilities and consider the limitations of available vulnerability scanners

• How to use tools to exploit vulnerabilities found

• How to use payloads and be familiar with the various types of shellcodes

• How to identify key vulnerabilities in web applications and exploit them
