Steering through transfer pricing compliance and managing end-to-end transfer pricing

technology

With the preparation deadline for transfer pricing documentation in Singapore and other neighbouring countries fast approaching, we would like to share our experience on best practices for effective compliance as well our observations of recent transfer pricing audit trends.

As we transition into the ‘new normal’, businesses around the world have felt the impact of COVID-19 with a broad range of interrelated issues spanning from keeping employees and customers safe, shoring-up cash and liquidity, reorienting operations and navigating complicated government support programmes – all of which may have a potential impact on transfer pricing.

The pandemic has also brought about new technologies revolutionising traditional ways of conducting business around the world, pushing the need for the OECD to move even faster with BEPS 2.0 to address tax challenges arising from the digitalisation of the economy. Businesses will need to brace themselves as the latest BEPS 2.0 proposals soon to be released will likely bring about new waves of challenges in the global tax landscape.

In addition, we will also touch upon how to manage the end-to-end process of implementing transfer pricing, adopting a more holistic approach in streamlining the process and how operational transfer pricing (OTP) may be used as a strategic analytics tool.

Our session will focus on the following topics:

  • Steering through transfer pricing compliance and audits
  • Transfer pricing considerations arising from COVID-19
  • BEPS 2.0 – current state of play
  • Managing transfer pricing end-to-end – the importance of OTP
