KPMG Sweden named National Tax Firm of the Year

KPMG Sweden got to celebrate twice in the European Tax Awards. For the fifth consecutive year, KPMG was named National Tax Firm of the Year, and Tina Zetterlund won the award as EMEA Tax Practice Leader of the year. ”It is such a joy and an honor, especially in these times as recognition for all of the skilled employees I have the pleasure to lead,” says Tina Zetterlund, Head of Tax & Legal at KPMG Sweden.

Tina Zetterlund and members of her team are usually in London this time of year to participate in the International Tax Review’s award ceremony, but given the current situation the 2020 event was carried out virtually:

“It was a different format this year, but just as much fun! I am so proud of the amazing team of tax consultants I have the joy to work with, and I look forward to celebrating together when we can all be gathered again. Our employees are the stars behind these achievements!”

KPMG won in tough competition from the other Big4 companies, law firms, and specialized tax advisors. Tina Zetterlund was also individually acknowledged for her leadership, with the EMEA Tax Practice Leader of the Year award.

”This is huge. Being top ranked in Sweden for the fifth year in a row is proof that we are close to our vision; being the clear choice for both employees and clients. To also be named leader of the year is of course incredibly flattering,” Tina Zetterlund says.

What is the key behind KPMG Sweden’s successful tax team?
”An important aspect is our drive to constantly evolve, for example when we develop digital tax solutions aiming to simplify for our clients. But the main key to our success is obviously the team – a united and extremely competent group of people who thrive in the KPMG culture and who are passionate about our clients and their material tax issues.”

International Tax Review has reviewed the companies within areas such as innovation, complexity, and impact.

What’s going on for Sweden’s best tax consultants in the current situation?
”We are staying busy! Tax and legal issues are always relevant, and we continue to support existing and new clients around the challenges arising due to COVID-19. We do that both in our assignments and by sharing relevant information and thought leadership through webinars, newsletters and social media. In order to quickly adapt to new circumstances, having an agile approach is more important than ever,” Tina Zetterlund concludes.
