The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has delivered its 2019 budget on December 18, 2018.

The 2019 budget is a re-enforcement of the government commitment to provide continued support to Vision 2030 programs and achieving a fiscal balance by 2023.

The key highlights of the budget are:

  • Largest ever budgeted spending, crossing the one trillion mark for the first time.
  • The fiscal deficit is set to fall to SAR 131 billion in 2019, compared with SAR 136 billion in the previous year.
  • Real GDP growth is expected to reach 2.6 percent in 2019, in anticipation of improved investor and consumer sentiment, supported by an increase in public capital expenditure.

At KPMG, we have examined the budget and provided our analysis.
