Faisal has over 16 years experience of financial services sector gained through his work in the financial services assurance practice of KPMG London, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan offices.

Areas of Expertise

  • Faisal has managed teams to audit large banking and capital market clients. He has also been involved in various regulatory inspection projects of Saudi banks on behalf of Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (“SAMA”) and review and implementation support of internal control framework projects of Saudi banks. 

 

  • He provides technical accounting advice to KPMG’s audit and non-audit clients. He has been involved in IFRS 9, 10, 11 and 12 impact assessments projects.

 

  • His experience in IFRS includes assisting clients to analyse structures and other accounting issues under IFRS. Topics in which he has been involved recently include: IFRS 9, consolidation & asset derecognition, impairment of financial assets, debt vs. equity classifications, off-setting and assets held for sale.
