KPMG announces the appointment of new Audit, Advisory, and Tax & Legal partners.
Mushfig Aliyev, Partner, Head of Tax and Legal, KPMG in Azerbaijan
Mushfig graduated from the Azerbaijan State University of Economics and he joined KPMG in 2012, bringing with him over 13 years’ experience working for a leading multinational audit and advisory firm. He has 18 years’ experience in providing tax advisory and business consulting services, and his clients have included oil&gas, real estate & construction, consumer market, IT, banking sector, and retail companies.
Sergey Kazachkov, Partner, Deal Advisory, Advisory, KPMG in Russia and the CIS
Sergey graduated from Baltic State Technical University VOENMEH in St. Petersburg and he joined KPMG in 2010. Prior to joining KPMG he worked for five years in one of the largest global appraisal companies in Russia. He has wide-ranging experience in appraising energy and transport sector companies and he is actively involved in projects in Russia and Kazakhstan related to business valuations, purchase price allocations, and fixed-asset valuations.
Sergey is a member of the American Society of Appraisers and the Self-Regulated Interregional Association of Appraisers, is a certified appraiser (Russia) and chartered appraiser (Kazakhstan).
Andrey Kouznetsov, Partner, Financial Services, Audit, KPMG in Russia and the CIS
Andrey graduated from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy in Uzbekistan and he joined KPMG in 2002. He has substantial experience in assisting in the preparation and audit of RAP and IFRS financial statements and in providing transaction advisory services. His clients include investment companies, banks, and non-state pension funds.
Andrey is a member of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) and the Self-Regulated Organization of Auditors – Non-Profit Partnership Chamber of Auditors of Russia, and he also holds an audit license from the Russian Finance Ministry.
Peter Latos, Partner, Transaction Services, Advisory, KPMG in Russia and the CIS
Peter holds an MBA from École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées and a postgraduate certificate in international business from the University of Edinburgh (UK).
Peter has been with KPMG in Russia and the CIS since 2012, and he has more than 15 years’ experience in advising companies on M&A transactions in Europe, North and South America, Asia, and Russia and the CIS. More recently he has focused on helping multinational corporations enter the Russian and CIS markets, as well as consolidating their market positions through M&A.
Peter is a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and a Fellow Member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (FMAAT).
Natalia Markina, Partner, Audit, KPMG in Russia and the CIS
Natalia graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University and National Research University Higher School of Economics, and she holds an MSc in Economics from the State University Higher School of Economics and Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam (the Netherlands).
Natalia has been with KPMG since 1999, and she has built up a wealth of experience in auditing RAP and IFRS financial statements and advising on the compilation of IFRS financial statements. Her clients comprise companies from various industries, including consumer markets, infrastructure construction, automotive, real estate, and agriculture.
Natalia is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and she also holds an audit license from the Russian Finance Ministry.
Shamil Musayev, Partner, Audit, KPMG in Ukraine
Shamil graduated from the Economics Department of the National University Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (Ukraine), and he joined KPMG in 2001. He has over 15 years’ experience in providing audit services and assisting in preparing financial statements under IFRS, National Accounting Standards of Ukraine, and US GAAP, as well as in rendering services related to implementation and optimization of internal controls and business processes. He also gained considerable international cross-border experience in providing audit and advisory services during a long-term secondment to KPMG in Hong Kong. His clients have included multinational and Ukrainian companies from the consumer markets and industrial sector, insurance companies, and non-governmental organisations.
Shamil is a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and is a certified statutory auditor in Ukraine.
Sven-Thorsten Osmers, Partner, Corporate Finance, Advisory, KPMG in Russia and the CIS
Sven majored in engineering at Universität Rostock in Germany, and he is also a graduate of the European Business School in Wiesbaden (Germany).
Prior to joining KPMG in 1997 Sven worked for five years in the real estate and construction sector, where he headed a number of engineering projects. He has built up a wealth of experience in advising real estate companies. Currently he supports clients in raising finance for large-scale real estate developments. In particular, he helps strategically analyse companies’ property portfolios, and assists on project feasibility studies and asset divestments. He also advises clients on optimising the operation of managed assets and provides transaction advice on real estate acquisitions. Sven’s clients have included Russian developers, asset-holding companies, banks, and international investors.
Donat Podnyek, Partner, People Services Group, Tax & Legal, KPMG in Russia and the CIS
Donat graduated from the Economics Faculty of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Donat has been with KPMG since 1999 and has built up wide-ranging experience in the application of tax, labour, currency control, and migration law. He has assisted Russian and international companies in developing and implementing employee incentive and global mobility programmes, and has advised on various aspects of hiring foreign nationals in Russia. His experience also includes providing advisory and compliance services to private clients and their family members in Russia and abroad.
Kakha Rukhadze, Partner, Tax and Legal, KPMG in Georgia
Kakha graduated from Georgian Technical University in Tbilisi with an MSc in Economics.
Kakha joined KPMG in Georgia in 2007 and he has over 17 years’ experience in providing tax and legal services, supporting clients in tax litigations, running comprehensive tax and legal due diligence studies, and assisting in IFRS audits. His clients include major national and international consumer market companies, as well as energy, transport, and financial sector companies.
Kakha is a certified professional accountant (Georgian Federation of Professional Accountants and Auditors).
Andrei Ryazantsev, Partner, Audit, KPMG in Russia and the CIS
Andrei graduated from the Economics Department of Lomonosov Moscow State University.
Andrei has been with KPMG since 2003. He has extensive experience in providing audit services and assisting in RAP, IFRS, and US GAAP audits, as well as in providing advisory services on switching to IFRS. In addition, he has participated in capital market entry projects (IPOs and bonds) on key international and Russian stock exchanges. His clients include metals and mining sector, energy, consumer markets, and mechanical engineering companies.
Andrei is a certified Russian auditor, a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), and a member of the Russian-Singapore practice of KPMG in Moscow, which supports Russian and CIS companies in organising their businesses in Singapore and works with Singapore and international companies interested in the Russian market.
Mikhail Stepanov, Partner, Department of Professional Practice, Audit, KPMG in Russia and the CIS
Mikhail graduated with honours in International Economics from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Mikhail has been with KPMG since 2002, and he has built up extensive experience in auditing RAP and IFRS financial statements. He has also managing a number of transformation and consolidation projects for major Russian and international companies, including first-time adoption of IFRS, and participated in IPO projects involving Russian companies. His clients have included Russian and international companies in the shipbuilding, postal services, transport, manufacturing, and mining industries. Currently he works in the Department of Professional Practice (DPP), where he focuses mainly on IFRS-related issues.
Mikhail is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and is a certified Russian auditor.
Olga Yasko, Partner, Tax & Legal, KPMG in Russia and the CIS
Olga graduated from the Kutafin Moscow State Law University (MSAL).
Olga leads M&A legal services in KPMG Legal and she specialises in providing advisory services related to the acquisition and disposal of assets in Russia and abroad, setting up joint ventures, and developing ownership and management structures for Russian and international companies.
In addition, she has extensive experience in providing advisory services to financial institutions and their clients, including structuring finance transactions, debt restructuring and disposals, and advising on innovative financial services and solutions.
Olga’s clients comprise both Russian and international companies, including credit and investment institutions, non-state pension funds and insurance companies, industrial enterprises, and non-profit organisations.
