BashnyaBazaar took place in the Naberezhnaya Tower Complex shopping area.
Nine leading not-for-profit organisations working with vulnerable children were represented at the BashnyaBazaar: the Center for Curative Pedagogics, “Walk of Life” Charity Fund, the Maria's Children art therapy centre, Gift of Life, the Osobye Masterskiye centre for social adaptation and vocational training, the Avoska Gives Hope social project, Miloserdiye, SAMU Social Moskva, and Volunteers for Orphans.
The first BashnyaBazaar was made possible thanks to the joint efforts of a whole range of 'neighbour' companies in the Naberezhnaya Tower Complex. KPMG and Pfizer invited partner NGOs and ran a promotion campaign. They also dealt with all the organisational issues. The complex's management company, ENKA, made space in the shopping area available.
In just three hours, the BashnyaBazaar raised 112,602 rubles.
Julia Bogdanova, Manager, Corporate Citizenship and Sustainability Committee, KPMG in Russia and the CIS, noted: “We as a company are very interested in the development of the third sector in Russia, so it is important for us to support platforms for the civilised and safe engagement of our staff and our neighbour companies in the business center in the social and charity programmes of the best NGOs. We realise that trust will grow only where, in addition to souvenirs and smiles, there is also professional work by NGO aimed at solving complex social issues and the ability to speak about it clearly is shown."
KPMG in Russia and CIS CCS Committee thanks everyone involved in the BashnyaBazaar for their contribution.
