Today, no one challenges the idea that digitalization is the key to success for all sectors of the economy, and the construction sector is no exception. The process of creating a holistic digital ecosystem of the state is under way, and the construction industry has a special place in it — the use of digital systems has already been enshrined in our legislation; Federal project "Digital Public Administration" has been adopted, which, among other things, involves the automation of all stages and procedures of the life cycle of the property. And sales and maintenance of real estate objects cannot be imagined without digital technologies these days either.
Despite notable advancements in digitalization, there exist several problems hindering technology adoption in the construction industry — high investment costs, rigidity of the sector’s companies, and difficulties with IT systems integration.
To objectively assess the current level of technological development of the market, identify factors dominating the development of digitalization and formulate the most relevant and significant trends, KPMG, in conjunction with PropTech Russia, conducted a large-scale survey harnessing digital innovation in the Russian construction industry.
